The 15th International Symposium on Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis had been held at September 16th to 20th, 2019 in Moscow State University of Science and Technology (NUST). The conference was hosted by the Institute of Macroscopic Dynamics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and hosted by the Moscow State University of Science and Technology. It invited famous experts from China, Russia, the United States, Japan, France and many other research institutions to participate in this conference.

Prof. Chen Pengwan and two graduate students, Liu Kaiyuan, Li Yayong attended the Workshop. Professor Chen Pengwan gave an invitation report entitled “Solution combustion synthesis of carbon-based porous nanomaterials for efficient electrochemical applications”. He introduced the recent progress on Solution combustion synthesis in our group and discussed with audiences. In addition, Liu Kaiyuan made a report titled “TiC-TiB2 composite ceramics by SHS and explosive loading”. Li Yayong presented a poster entitled “Solution combustion synthesis of N-doped NiO/Ni@C composite nanomaterials and its electrochemical performance as anode material of Lithium/sodium ion batteries”.

Under the arrangement of the conference group, they visited Moscow's famous sights such as the Moscow River and the Red Square on the afternoon of the third day.
