The International Symposium on Explosive Production of New Materials: Science, Technology, Business, and Innovations (EPNM-2010) was held at Bechichi, Montenegro from June 7th to June 11th, 2010. One PhD student of SPC, Mr. Xiang Gao attended the conference and gave an oral presentation entitled "Fabrication of Mo/Cu Functional Gradient Material by Hot-Explosive Consolidation".
The symposium is intended to be a representative forum of scientists, engineers, and production managers active in the field of rapid processes and phenomena accompanying shock- and detonation-assisted synthesis, shock-assisted modification of materials, explosive strengthening and welding of metals, and explosion-mediated consolidation of powders for effective industrial-scale implementation of the above processes. This symposium was organized by faculties mainly come from Institute of Structural Macrokinetics, Russian Academy of Sciences (ISMAN) and Council on Combustion and Explosion Russian Academy of Sciences. Nearly 150 scholars and scientists, coming from different countries of the world, were present at this conference. About 150 papers were accepted, which includes about 100 oral presentations for the exchange of ideas and experimental techniques.
