The 6th Yellow Sea Rim Workshop on Explosion, Combustion and other Energetic Phenomena for Various Environmental Issues (YSR-6) was held at Kumamoto University, Japan on September 8-11, 2011. The workshop has been continued for several years to activate academic exchanges in the related fields of explosion, combustion and other energetic phenomena for various environmental issues. The workshop was organized by some invited and contributed talks as well as poster presentations especially by young researchers.

    Prof. Pengwan Chen and Dr. Kaida Dai of SPC attended the workshop. Prof. Chen gave an invited talk entitled "Shock induced doping and phase transition of TiO2" and Dr. Dai gave a contributed talk entitled "Numerical investigation of dynamic consolidation of W/Cu powders" respectively. During the workshop, Prof. Chen and Dr. Dai also had an in-depth discussion with scientists coming from Japan, Korea, and Slovenia.
