The 3rd International Symposium on Explosion, Shock wave and High-energy reaction Phenomena 2010 (3rd ESHP Symposium) was held at Seoul National University, Korea, from September 1st to 3rd, 2010. PhD students of SPC Xiang Gao and Qiang Zhou attended the conference, and gave oral presentations entitled "Experiment Study on the Hot-Shock Consolidation of Tungsten Powder" and "Shock Synthesis and Characterization of High-Pressure Phase of TiO2" respectively.
The ESHP Symposiums were organized successfully at Kumamoto, Japan in 2004 and 2007. The aim of the symposium is to enhance exchange of ideas in the most recent issues in explosion and shock waves for various industrial applications. The symposium was sponsored by Seoul National University, Korea Research Foundation, Korean Society of Combustion, Kumamoto University, etc. The topics covered at the symposium were "Deflagration, detonation, and other high energy phenomena", "Shock wave and related phenomena in condensed and gaseous phase", "Response of materials under high–rate deformation" and "Innovative application of high-energy-rate phenomena".
